Detox Through Juicing: How it's done.
Juicing is all the rage at the moment so I decided to test it out myself. After seeing it for weeks on my Instagram feed, I decided it was time for me to try it. Not going to lie, I did run into a couple of hiccups with me firstly not having a juicer and secondly not having the necessary ingredients, although the latter could be quickly fixed with a run to the store. Thanks to Google it turned out I didn't need the former. So here is my take on juicing at home.
Normally, juicing requires for one to have a juicing machine, but I came across an article that stated that honestly, all one needs to begin their juicing diet was a food processor (or blender), a fine-mesh sieve, a bowl and a spoon (or spatula). And in this blog, I'll show you how that works.
Prep/Time:45 minutes
Yields: 500ml/ 16fl. oz.
Ingredients:
- 5 Apples
- 4 Carrots
- 1 Pawpaw
- 1/2 Lemon
- 1 Clementine
- 1 Beet
- 1Tbs Ginger spice/1-2 inches (5.08cm) of Gingerroot
- 1Tbs Turmeric
Kitchen Tools:
Food processor
Large fine mesh sieve
2 Large Bowls
Large spoon/ Spatula
Instructions
- Prepare all fruit and veggies by, coring the apples, peeling the carrots, lemon, and clementine
3. Place the sieve over a large bowl and start straining the pulp through the sieve, slightly pushing down to release all the liquid into the bowl. Do this in small batches to ensure all liquid has been drained from the pulp.
4. Place the drained pulp in a separate bowl saving for baking and smoothies.
5. Then serve juice room temp or chilled.
